last hour of 2011, decided to look back and think about stuff that happened this year-

-worked in bcc for a few months at the start of the year, where i met nice friends/colleagues.
-went for a few short trips out of singapore (sabah, penang-kl-malacca, taiwan), enjoyed myself while i could before school started. taiwan was great, i swear i will return sometime soon. but most memorable probably backpacking/roaming around with xinhui and ivan in malaysia, miss you guys lots.
-convinced myself to go for one orientation camp and met nice coursemates for whom i am really thankful for. thanks for making life in MSE more vibrant. (:

and...

most importantly:
for having encountered amazing person/events that made me feel truly blessed and thankful for. though sometimes i really feel undeserving, but thank you so so much for everything.(:

haven't slept a wink at all last night, whole body sore. wanted to go out for a walk to take a breather but looks like my body probably can't take it.

results have been so-so (to most nus students), but pretty decent for a first semester by my own standards i guess. did better than expected for physics, but a wee bit disappointed i didn't get my A- for economics. but still, thank you Lord for your faithfulness.

semester 1 break has seriously been a rollercoaster ride for me. extreme highs, to extreme lows. perhaps a sign of ageing, but i really think i can't really cope with such extreme situations/emotions.

zu dir: don't let your faith in me die. i will prove to you one day that it's all worth it. 9-12-4.

you seriously still had no idea what i was talking about. i mean, this is really a 'principle' kind of thing already no? if i had agreed to anything i will never ever make last minute plans that will compromise/clash with my initial plan/agreement/promise. guess it really also shows how much/little the initial plan mattered. i was really willing to spend time / looking forward to the initial plan, this last minute thing just made me blow things out of proportion, but it was only because i really 看重 the initial plan. maybe i wouldn't 看重 so much next time to avoid disappointment. ):

on the bus home now, and somehow randomly felt like updating something here again for no reason. been feeling extremely bored, stressed, scared and worried for the past 1-2 weeks. only 15 days left and i can't really see how i'll be able to do decently for finals :/ never felt so worried over an exam before actually. guess its part of the effects of a two-year absence from school.

knee's been hurting quite a bit lately and i really hate the feeling. i don't want to keep complaining about it too but it's really been quite bad lately.

and i actually don't really know why i'm still updating this blog though. but i guess the day i really stop updating this blog will be the day that i ______. yupp.

randomly dropping by my own blog before i sleep and realised that this place is seriously full of cobwebs and almost rotting already so i decided to do a random post to preserve this memorable blog-

half of my first semester in uni has passed, so quickly that it feels weird and somewhat scary at the same time. well fun times and some (really) nice friends make my struggle to reactivate my defunct brain less of a pain too (:

birthday was two days ago, and seriously realised how much my birthdays in the next 3+ years are going to suck real bad just like it did this year since every year on my birthday i'll probably be spending it in examination halls doing midterm tests. D;

einstein test was really ridiculous, there was no way i will ever be able to finish 40 relativity and space/stars/blackhole questions in an hour. plus a few mistakes here and there, my result for this test is seriously not worth looking forward to.

spent almost the whole recess week just to prepare for the math test a few hours ago. really wasn't what i expected at all. (already know the results but) after the paper i really was pondering whether my one week could've been better spent salvaging my physics instead. the paper was totally unlike any of the past years' i've attempted. well results wise i can't and really will not complain, but i've really got to say this paper took my by surprise. totally.

3 more days, 2 more midterms tests. shall play all i can after friday and during the weekends before its time to pick up from the lag we're all experiencing due to midterms week. perhaps they really shouldn't have lectures / continue to chiong chapters during midterms week, it's really not hard to realise most people in the lecture are actually revising for some other paper they have that day.

off to sleep for now, not sure when i'll actually be back but, goodnight world-

it's been two years;

exactly two years since grandma passed away. its been the longest two years of my life, mainly because of ns, but the memory of grandma's passing is still fresh and deeply etched in my mind. it also happened to be the third day of my alevels two years ago. retrospectively, i still thank God for taking grandma back at such a trying period for me two years ago. for one, grandma was relieved of her pain; and for another, perhaps the hectic exam period also helped to lessen the grief. either ways, i've learnt to thank you Lord for the way you made it all. and of course (in a slightly more jovial mood), thank God for not screwing up my alevels :)

i miss you grandma.

Germans want Ballack to quit national team
A narrow majority of German football fans want captain Michael Ballack to quit the national team, according to a survey.

The SID news agency asked the Dortmund Polling Institute to interview fans and found that 55.1 per cent want the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, 33, to step aside.

This would allow Philipp Lahm to keep the armband he wore during the World Cup, and would pave the way for the new generation of young players who impressed in the injured Ballack’s absence.

However, the former Chelsea star is still viewed as one of the top German players, after he polled joint-second with Miroslav Klose in another survey among the sample of fans.

The veteran duo were viewed as Germany's top player by 11.7 per cent of respondents, behind only Klose's Bayern Munich team-mate Bastien Schweinsteiger (20.8 per cent).

uhh as you can see the last ord update i posted was 5 months ago hahah. but anyway! freedom is coming real soooooooon, but this last one month feels like the longest month in my life, ever.

got to start planning for post-ord life already too, i've got 8 to 9 months before school starts, and if i really do relief teaching it'll only start in january :/ i really need a job before that (and just in case there's no vacancies for relief teachers)... recommendations anyone?

anw, shit i just realised my last post was in january 18 hahah thats almost 4 months ago. but nvm since i have time today i shall update a little.

school-
reapplied for uni this year and this is what i got:

as march is drawing near, uni application period is about to start again. and yes i keep having the same thoughts recently - am i really going to study mechanical engineering?

as much as i want to study aerospace engineering (and yes i will try applying again), i doubt i'll get in and will probably fall back to the second choice. but after one year i am actually starting to question my decision of accepting the mech. engineering offer last year. im praying for a direction, Lord.

anw chinese new year is drawing near and since my family didn't celebrate chinese new year last year (because of grandma's passing) i finally went to buy new shoes to replace my puma shoes with almost-flat soles. guess what, i'm sticking to puma still hahah.

alright, shall update again another time, off to watch House M.D. now, i've been watching alot of House recently.

because i had some impacted wisdom tooth extracted so i have more time at home thus i felt i should reflect on the year that passed-

in this extremely boring and mundane year that passed, i thank God for the following:

for letting me realise how important simple stuff like family is to me. well, in being home everyday we often take our families and homes for granted, and often end up treating it like a mere hostel, where you go back and sleep and just leave the next day. but thank you Lord for making me realise and appreciate this simple yet easily forgotten blessing.
for being with me every minute along the way throughout this past year. my prayers you have heard Lord, and thank you for that.
while it hasn't been a big or eventful year i still thank God for the small stuff in this past year like passing my driving test, getting a place in an engineering course and all, many of which i probably couldn't have done without your grace.
while some prayers may seem like they've not been heard sometimes, thank you Lord for making me come to the realisation that sometimes it is not just a simple 'yes' or 'no', but a trial to wait, and accept that if it is Your will, i will heed.

its been ultra long since my last decent post but i suddenly had the urge to update today. and just in case i do not update in time later, merry christmas to everyone :)

had off today so decided to bowl in the afternoon at csc.supposed to bowl with weimin but he got recalled to camp last minute so he did not come and so i bowled alone-

anyway! i was quite happy with today's bowling :D 7 games total pinfall 1176, thats an average of 168.

ok fine the average isn't that fantastic but i was happy enough because i bowled two high games (high by my standards thanks) today :D
first high game scored 204, which i actually cleared a split to maintain a perfect closed game =)
second high game was 214 woohoo, also closed all frames but i had a turkey in my last frame so scored better than the previous 204 =)

OH YES (sad to say) 214 happens to be my all time PB too hahah am i noob or what =/ but nonetheless i'm still damn happy over my bowling scores today :D

was too tired to update yesterday so i didn't-

anyway i went to BBDC to finish up the stupid final theory test that i obviously should've done last december to not waste time. anyway it was fine, and i passed, hahaa and i broke my record time of attempting 50 questions :) i did it in 7 mins this time heh. the auntie beside me obviously looked quite nervous (relax lahh) and looked like she's never seen an 11B in her life before, staring at my 11B that i placed on the desk =/

and so i'm meeting my instructor next wednesday to book my practical test. hopefully i can get a date thats not too far away please.. my initial plans of passing before my birthday seems impossible now that the earliest slot available (as of today) is on the 24th of september. by next wednesday i doubt i can get any slot before the 26th =(

and so its ndp rehearsal (eurgh) once again tomorrow and it will be the last time i'm seeing jake, he's been posted out to ADF since he's signed on as ADF. gonna miss his presence i guess, even though i've only known him after i got posted to the navy.

youth sunday this week, got to collect offerings so have to wear long sleeve and put on a tie. it's been like 9 months since i wore such stuff. never mind, i'll go find a tie for sunday after i come home from rehearsal tomorrow.

nothing else interesting in my mundane life at the moment. period.

ON A HOPELESS PIG'S REQUEST, I'M UPDATING MY BLOG-

i received my pre-ordered 林依晨 album yesterday!
album comes with 2 folders (one with a cartoon of 林依晨 and one with her picture of course). the album also came signed in gold ink =D was admiring it before i went duty yesterday but didn't dare to unwrap the plastic covering the album as i was initially afraid that the signature was signed on the plastic.
i spent the whole night duty yesterday listening to 林依晨's new songs =) the tunes just keep running through my head hehe.

aight i shan't continue my blabber about how good 林依晨's new album is or i can imagine someone (who keeps complaining about my blog being dusty) giving me a very big TSKKK and a pig telling me i'm obsessed.

also went bowling with weimin in the afternoon, went to hometeamns a.k.a CDANS initially but the back end of the lanes were so dirty it wasn't nice to bowl so we switched to CSC after two games. oh well, the advantages of having a car to ferry you around hahaa.

final theory test is tomorrow at BBDC. which actually is quite dumb cos i SHOULD have taken my final theory test last december so i wouldn't have to waste time waiting in order to book practical test. miscalculations and lousy planning, thats me.

my internet is also finally up, no longer using starhub now but using singnet, still quite satisfied with it at the moment. and OHKAYY i will update my blog more regularly. (i didn't update my blog only because my internet was down for more than a week aight.)

secured early from camp today so i went back to school to collect the school graduating certificate in the evening. it came in a very nice brown folder with the words on the cover embossed in gold.

on the way home i read through everything with mixed feelings. reading the testimonial made me appreciate again (since i've already read the testimonial before.) how nice miss bobillier is, making a playful kid like me sound like some conscientious student. obviously i didn't deserve that.

opened the letter box to find NTU's letter-

"We regret to inform you that due to keen competition your appeal (for change of programme to Aerospace Engineering) has not been successful... The place in the Mechanical Engineering programme has been reserved for you for academic year 2011/12."

receiving such notifications are, of course, disappointing. but who else can i blame but myself for not having performed better? whatever happened during a'levels period cannot, and will not be an excuse for such mediocre results. but what's over is over, i will stop lamenting and start thinking about and planning for the future.

when everything you planned doesn't work out at all, could it be Him telling you where he actually wants you to go? perhaps submission is just something my rebellious nature needs to learn-

firstly, 幸福遇见!

林依晨's debut album is out for preorder! its going to be released on 10 July 2009! i've pre-ordered my copy online woohoo it's gonna be shipped to singapore as soon as its released.

secondly,
i wanted to upload my POP photos from ages ago but i realised i really cannot find where i put them =/ so sorry people you can only see photos of the bald PTE Chan when i find the photos hehe.
oh yes, to people who don't know, i've since been dyed blue after POP (i.e. i've been posted to the navy) and my unit now is Tuas Defence Squadron / Sea Surveillance. (if it isn't obvious enough, i'm based in Tuas Naval Base now)
oh yes, i'm a stay-out personnel :)

thirdly,
i've continued my driving lessons after stopping for close to 2 months (thanks to being in Changi Naval Base for like 6 days a week and booking out only for a day during the initial phase).
thank goodness my driving hasn't really rusted, i still feel quite comfortable at the wheel =) oh hahaa there was this short girl who had the slot before my driving lesson and she's quite odd because her seat is way further back than i would usually sit (albeit her legs being obviously shorter than mine) and i had to adjust like everything (seats, mirrors) when i got on, i couldn't see a single thing with her mirror positions hahaa.
taxi drivers and traffic light cameras are the hate. taxi drivers just refuse to give way so you have to force your way into the yellow box to make them stop. traffic light cameras are the ultimate since i always seem to get on the end of perfect amber-light-timings so i always have the fear of getting snapped.

as 2008 came to an end i reflected upon the past year and had quite a few thoughts. this thanksgiving post is 2 days late, but better late than never-

as i thought about the year that passed, i thank God for the following-
1) the chance to take part in a'divisions even though i'm seriously not good enough. this chance really meant the world to me.
2) giving me really great tutors at school who never gave up on me, no matter how bad my grades were, giving me consultations tirelessly in the stretch leading up to a'levels.
3) the best classmates and bowling teammates i can ever have. we had fun, we worked hard, they form the 2 years of my memory of life at hwachong which i will never forget.

there are many many more in between that i can't really express well in words, but the final few things i thank God for are one of the most important-
4) for the chance to have lived with, and taken care of, my grandma in her final few months with us - the chance to cook for her, the chance to watch tv with her, etc. - thank you Lord for leaving me with no regrets.
5) this is a little unique, but after grandma left us, i found that she still kept the momento i bought for her from Penang eight years ago (well that dates back to year 2000, when i was ten). the thought that my grandma treasured the things her grandchildren gave her so much that even eight years later it was still in very good condition really warms my heart. thank you Lord for this consolation following the departure of grandma.

to lose a loved one is never easy, especially when you're stuck right in the middle of two weeks of examinations that would change your life. but thinking of it i still thank God for having relieved grandma's pain, as well as for putting me through the test for me to grow.

as i face the year ahead, hopefully i will be able to be steadfast as i go through national service and whatever comes my way in the coming year-

prom was friday at ritz-carlton. food wasn't exactly the best, programme i don't know because i wasn't paying attention, but the camwhoring and the time spent with friends made it all worthwhile-

surprises of the day-
1) xinhui spiked his hair.
2) xinhui doesn't wear green specs anymore.
3) jinhuey wore a rather pretty dress (no jinhuey you're really not fat please hahaa)
4) jinhuey did not trip and fall while wearing high heels.
5) SOMEONE actually gave mishh a bouquet of flowers hahahaa

surprises aside, i must really admit some people seriously look way prettier/better at prom, seriously-

after much camwhoring after prom event ended, the group of us went to Harry's @ The Esplanade for a drink before going to peckk's house for stayover. the drinks were not bad and their names were explicitly funny.
at peckk's-
played silent heart attack which i was totally hopeless at and so i drank about a bottle of beer which somehow had no effect on me even though i have low alcohol tolerance (small one lahh) in total as forfeit.
played truth or dare which got really amusing/funny/interesting with all the stupid questions and dares we came out with.
played & talked until around 7 plus cos yuanxin just couldn't stop laughing hahaa. everyone went home after eating at subway, but honestly the stayover was seriously fun =) i'm looking forward to class chalet hahaa we shall have more rubbishy sessions like these late into the night =D

i'm back i'm back!

i haven't forgotten this blog, i swear. just that so many things have been happening recently i haven't really got time to update. but here i am, back to update this dear blog of mine :)

a'levels-
and so a'levels were finally over on 18 November 2008. rest and play for us, finally. a'levels were generally fine except i felt that i didn't do particularly well for physics and economics.
grandma left us on the morning of 5 November 2008, 5.32am. the day before chemistry paper 3. wasn't an easy period of time for me, especially with grandma's death happening during a'levels period. spent much of my first week at the funeral then, not much studying done :(

after a'levels-
with examinations out of the way peckhwang, ivan and myself went to enroll ourselves for driving lessons, and three of us took the theory lessons + practice sessions + evaluation + going to take the test together. classmates for the win =) although we do have to constantly remind peckhwang there's lesson the next day lest she oversleeps and misses the session again (like on the first session of Basic Theory 1.01)

peckhwang, ivan, zhikai, yongqiang, zhihong and myself went to Jurong East Swimming Complex for class (group) outing too! was really really fun, much quality time spent =) although i did experience a phase of skin shedding after that due to sunburns hahaa. oh yeahh, sakae buffet was good too =D

fine. that aside. i've been thinking alot recently, about tertiary education and the future and everything. well, after alot of thinking, i've come to realise the sad facts of life. as much as i really really really really really want to pursue a tertiary education in the states, the chances of myself actually going is quite small, since university education in the states cost (more than) a bomb. i'm not fussing over the costs and stuff, but look - what's the point of going if you're going to be a financial burden to your family here in singapore.

life's probably just like that. screw it all-

about 29 days since my last update, thought i shouldn't neglect my blog, so im back here updating, more consistently, hopefully-

went to watch the dark knight last friday, the joker's ability to strike fear in the audience's hearts is really impressive. i don't like the ending though, i've always preferred movies with nice endings.

there was this UK/US university application briefing yesterday, the lecture theatre was swamped with people. i don't know why but i really really wish to pursue my tertiary education overseas. its not about the prestige or something, i just feel the experience of being an undergraduate in another country is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. or rather, i was secretly hoping that i could just get to the US to pursue my studies. financial costs may be a factor i may have to think alot about though, i don't want to be a burden to my parents.

enough of this want-to-go-overseas-to-study ranting, i was just randomly browsing when i came across this quote. its not the first time i've seen it, but i really like it. perhaps an epitome of my thoughts-

block tests are finally over-

went with the class to watch You Don't Mess with the Zohan after physics paper today. it was seriously hilarious. oh, and we all know why its NC-16 already after watching the show hahaa.

anyway i've got two pictures taken in the last week of holidays during the study programme. someone took off the "for SSP students only" sign from the sliding door separating the two sections in the reading room and put it on the hot water dispenser outside the toilet. so it looks something like this-

anyway i was watching this music video of one of 罗志祥's song entitled "好朋友", in which 林依晨 starred as the female character in the plot. the cast and the plot was really nice on top of the fact that the music was not bad.

but these lines at the last scene of the song caught my attention.

ohkayy anyway its been 16 days since my last update! been rather busy because of block tests which make me have sleepless nights. been at school all of the last week of holidays for the study programme thing to mug for block tests, and i was a little satisfied that i did not waste alot of time thanks to the study programme.

anyway what's done so far-

and that's it, end of pain but start of misery when i get back my results. i am totally unhappy with myself over mathematics. it's like i spent so much time on mathematics over every other subject with the hope of some small improvement but when it comes to block tests i couldn't even do the first question in the mathematics paper. am i dumb or what-

ohkayy that aside, i still maintain the view that 林依晨 is totally the cutest. hahaa i know YOU are laughing but it works the same way as you liking the not-very-tall-player-you-think-is-cute ohkayy lols.

friendly match-

bowling friendly match with SRJC bowling team today-

j2's swan song. our last one representing the school (and bowling team) in a competitive event. it meant so much to us. at least i hoped to round it all off with a decent performance to end my time at hcbowling on a high note.

and so we reached the alley before the friendly, with the idea that there would be practice throws before the friendly itself. but it turned out that we weren't going to have practice throws and there was a sudden frantic to open lanes to play 1 practice game before the friendly. i haven't bowled for more than 2 weeks - and it shows. my practice game i only closed one frame and scored some obscenely low score that's less than a hundred.

but anyway the friendly started and team 2 (yinghao, jansen, adriel and myself) really owned today. first two games we were practically beer-ing each other many many times (i.e. 3 people strikes and one person doesn't, if you don't understand) and the second game we had like team pinfall of 698, we were aiming for 700 but adriel missed his last spare hahaa.

but anyway all three games ended and we were quite happy with our performance, actually rather certain that our team would win. and so adriel got individual first, jansen individual third, yinghao individual eighth. top seven get to play masters so adriel and jansen played, adriel won first for masters, noreen won first for girls' masters.

bowling chalet-

ohkayy adel i'll update with a post now lest you say my blog is dusty hahaa-

and so i was at sentosa from monday to wednesday for bowling chalet. lots of fun, lots of quality time spent with the team, particularly the j2 team. i'm going to miss you guys alot alot after we stop training man. i mean seriously.

anyway, first day's highlights were generally our j2 dinner and the exco interview session. 煮炒 at koufu was nice seriously. at least it was quality j2 bonding time heh. oh anyway gwenma seriously looks like a ghost when she stands on top of the lamp on the beach. and at around midnight we conducted the exco interview on the small island off siloso beach, it was fun doing the interview in the dark, although the junior guys had a more awkward interview due to some special requests for them to take off their t-shirts hahaa. the interview lasted all the way till like 1am plus after which we went back to our room to play big2 till like 4am plus.

second morning we went to bury bottles which contained notes (and exco positions, if any) in the sand and made the juniors dig for them in the designated boundary. breakfast at delifrance was super expensive. houseball competition and pool session at SAFRA Mount Faber in the afternoon. i seriously can't bowl for nuts with houseball anymore hahaa. had pizza for dinner, all at the expense of the juniors. what's more - we were surprised with nice presents (mine hung on the tree on the island off siloso beach) and sweet notes and a big photo montage which looks like a bowling ball hitting pins when seen from far.

third day was plain normal, checkout and brunch at vivo but what's important is that seniors really really had a memorable chalet and were really touched by all the thought put into the notes and presents. thanks a billion, juniors. you guys have left us an everlasting fond memory of hcbowling. we love you guys.

anyway i went to school to study chem with yantian today. chemistry gets really dry when its read and attempting questions all day. after studying i suddenly had craving for douhua tangyuan and so i made yantian go eat too hahaa. pure satisfaction.

i can't seem to finish with revision, and i'm like quite scared of block test 2 now after my poor results from block test 1. i'm really really trying my best to dash all i can to revise as much as i can. but i'm really afraid.

been out for the past two days and today to do tutoring at a maths study camp for amk secondary students-

initially signed up to do only e-math tutoring. but after the e-math quiz on the first day it seems my tutee totally didn't need e-math tutoring, she got like full marks for that quiz hahaa. so my tutoring became a-math tutoring instead.

due to the very easy e-math and a-math questions given to the tutees on the first day, we decided to give the more challenging "Just One Page" questions that we did in high school to the tutees yesterday. then today after marking my tutee's a-math full practice paper and comparing with the other tutors' papers, i realised i was super miserly with giving my tutee marks (sorry! hahaa). some small mistakes here and there but it was not bad =)

hahaa and my tutee wrote jokingly on the tutee reflection sheet that her tutor kept making her do logarithm questions. heh the extra logarithm questions were like quite fun please, i gave questions that involved alot of changing base and combining terms and the answers are always like simple terms such as '1', after cancelling out everything hahaa.

anyway i think the study camp was quite meaningful la. although i don't think i taught much to my tutee, but the experience was fun and enriching i guess. and my tutee and her gang kept laughing at me and yanming's conversation hahaa.

ohkayy we took two photos at the end of the study camp! or maybe more than two because my tutee said i was expressionless in the first one hahaa.

so the conversation was about resolutions. particularly that kind of resolutions. and so i was insisting that such resolutions will never stick. like, you swear with all your heart that you're not going to be affected or involved in such issues, but like it or not you're still going to get affected. well at least my own resolutions never stick. hahaa. and one thing i mentioned last night kept running through my brain - some guys never know what they want. how true.

hahaa so the conversation was so random there so many other things but if i were to write them all i don't think i'll ever finish. but anyway i really think that twit adds a tinge of cuteness into language if used sparingly. yupps. sparingly is the word. i mean, when you look back and see the twit in your language last time, doesn't it make you feel more like a cute little kid hahaa.

ohkay its been yet another seven days since my last post-

nothing much happened last week i guess. apart from a'division basketball boys and girls finals. the guys won like they were expected to. the girls won after a really really hard fight, having trailed for 3 quarters (trailing by 15 at the start of 4th quarter), then picked themselves up and took the trophy back from RJ, winning them by 3 points by the end of the 4th quarter. amazing comeback, i must say.

went for the PSC psychometric test held in school today. after like:

36 multiple-choice logic questions
33 multiple-choice math questions with sixteen options each
40 language and inference questions (with like 15 short passages to read)
AND
175 personality and preference questions

i was like dead tired by the end of the whole test. what's scarier - the dunman high people seem to be able to finish the 175 questions in like - 20 minutes? even the athena fac comm girl sitting on my right finished SUPER fast hahaa. i was like one of the last few people who finished the test hahaa.

ohkayy that aside, i've been beta-testing Football Manager Live the past 2 days. its quite a neat game, i'm looking forward to its launch =)

and lasers and semiconductors are making much much more sense after mr low's 2.5 hours of physics last week, thanks alot alot hahaa-

haven't been blogging the past weekend so i'll just update now. dance nite was last friday and saturday anyway, and i went for the friday show. it was really quite good in my opinion, and we had fun playing spot-the-thick-ankle / spot-the-attention-seeking-red-shoes / spot-the-midget during dance nite itself. i must commend the bunch of us sitting all the way near the top of the centre block for having very good eyesight =)

zhikai, anni and i bought gay-coloured toy flowers for wilson and tackkian, not to mention a super big toy flower for caryn. nice idea huh =D

ohkayy i injured my ankle once again-

as usual, a result of high backswing full force hitting my ankle with a 13-pound bowling ball. this time it's a little worse than past few times, because it swelled like almost immediately. but its ohkay i still can walk currently. physical injuries are nothing.

oh and i made weimin treat me to me to long john silver's skin-on potato chips since he was like one hour late. made us wait at long john in yishun while he was still had corporation road (that's like near lakeside or yuanching road if you don't know where it is).

i haven't been flying on my flight simulator and controlling virtual air traffic control for some time now. don't have much time now since i need to focus on school work, but the next time i have some time, i'm going to do some flying.

its been 19 days since i last blogged, its time i updated my blog-

a'divs are over, i screwed it up. but it all does not matter anymore. i'm going to just forget it and look ahead =) im learning to let go and look to the future, although over some issues i may not be able to do it but i'll really try.

school has been fine these 2 weeks i guess, apart from the weekly monday dosage of 4 hours of physics. the last week has been the most fun one this term i guess, with like michh, caryn, elise and yongqiang's birthdays all in one week. zhikai and i did have fun with wrapping caryn and elise's presents though, im sure they had fun unwrapping too =D

and i'm going to bring my scout reactive for bowling training tomorrow to put new finger inserts (and widen the thumb hole). i've neglected my scout for a long time and since a'divs are over i think i should use it again.

and i've resolved to really make an effort to blog regularly-

good friday! lunch with timothy-ers at subway. im starting to like subway cookies alot. i ordered the large meal just for the 3 cookies haha.

anyway i've decided to seriously and conscientiously keep a logbook for all my flight sim flights. sadly as my computer crashed a couple of months ago, all my past flight records and information are gone, and i am only able to trace back to my flights from 21 november 2007 and later.

this new flight log allows me to keep a rather detailed record of all my flights. i'm rather fond of it. i can even print the log out or create a pdf copy (using macromedia flashpaper).

whees i'm back to write again. its quite amazing really, with the blink of an eye mathematics block test is over too. ohkay although i know i'll do super badly but i really really tried. i was totally tired during mathematics block test please, i tried to remember as much as i can until 2am, then attempted to sleep but ended up rolling left and right worrying about mathematics and thinking about random stuff. for almost an hour. you can probably imagine how much sleep i had considering i had to wake up at 6am.

its physics left, next monday. i swear i'll study for physics, just not today. today is for me to catch up on the sleep i've been missing since monday. anyway zhikai ivan yongqiang and i went swimming after mathematics block test today, i'm getting closer to knowing how to swim hehs =D thanks to the swimming pool uncle who stays at bukit batok =)

no school until monday, and no school next tuesday and wednesday either. fantastic.

hello again world-

i just realised i usually blog on days when im supposed to be doing something else. such as studying, for now.

well, its the block test week(s).
its general paper and h2 economics today, and i totally chose the wrong question and wrote the wrong stuff for my gp paper 1. and i didn't manage to do the last two parts of the economics paper which for some unknown reason holds a very big proportion of marks. ohkay it cannot be undone anyway so i shall forget it for the time being.

that aside, for some strange reason i have been playing the piano quite alot recently. alot's been going through my head, and i guess playing piano is a good way of just releasing everything. yups. funny how i don't usually touch the piano when i was still taking piano lessons, but keep playing it when i've stopped piano lessons altogether ehh.

ohkay i think i should go back to studying chemistry. and before you know it wednesday will be here and i'll have to take the dreaded h2 mathematics paper.

things have been rather monotonous. school - home - cca - home. i haven't even flown alot on flight sim these few weeks. only a measly 1 hour 15 minute flight from melbourne to sydney in like 3 weeks plus.

and i haven't been performing well these two trainings, i.e. wednesday and today. it seems when i ask of myself to perform i just don't perform up to what i can. weimin says its all about the mind. yups. i'll try to improve my mental aspect.

and there's jts tomorrow! how exciting =) its nice to hang out with the class. pure fun. oh yeah, and weimin came during training today. yah lah weimin you're nice lah LOL. i sorta miss the times after trainings last year when the few of us talk crap over our meal. and how we used to (although we still do) bully weimin together with fuji.

ahh ohkay enough of all that ranting and rubbish. i'll update again when i can organise my thoughts better.

school todayy was quite normal. gp tutorial in the morning was totally boring and torturous. doing last year's gp prelim's paper made me feel stupid. hahaa and now it's my turn to wait for angel(s)/mortal(s) to reply so i've got no letters to write todayy.

bowling training was not bad =) except for the fact that there were way too many people on too few lanes, which made everything damn slow. doesn't matter, bowling still rocks =) and i'm still trying my best to improve, hopefully i can make the school team this year and don't get cut. yupps.

team singapore happened to train at safra yishun today too. (they usually train at orchid country club) then after training just as remy ong was leaving jansen and i went up to ask to take a photo with him! hahaas. and he was really nice to agree to take a photo with us :) thanks!

extreme makeover-

had faculty cip today! extreme makeover - we had to whitewash + paint walls and doors/gates for the underprivileged at lengkok bahru. went from school to lengkok bahru by chartered bus. then my group had no units assigned initially so we were doing the delivery job, carrying all the metal tins and heavy buckets of paint and stuff to different units.

after like an hour of delivery job and another hour of breakfast we finally had a unit assigned to us, it was some block 59 #04-545 if i didn't recall wrongly. so we scraped and plastered the uneven wall and whitewashed it with a layer of water-based paint. when we finished half of the living room the girls had like quite a bit of difficulty starting on the 2nd half because when we moved the furniture to another side of the room all the cockroaches just came out, and the girls i.e. elise and jiemin seemed like they had a mortal fear for cockroaches.

ok then darius had a trauma. i'll skip that part. then after the opening ceremony sort of thing we went back to paint the gate and wooden door with enamel paint. (p.s. is this pronounced like 'caramel' or is it pronounced as 'e-neh-mer'?) and then after it was done we finally packed up for the day. fac cip was fun i guess, quite meaningful and you get to spend time with your class.

then we went tiong bahru plaza for dinner! our 6p junior class just ran away for dinner without us lah. we wanted a senior-junior class dinner initially, but doesn't matter our class went tiong bahru anyway. had LOADS of laugh over dinner at kfc recalling events that happened back in high school. time really flies eh.

ok i guess its more or less all of what i've done for the whole day, and im really really sleepy now so i think i'll go get some sleep-

haven't been blogging the previous 2 weeks again. just too many things to do, overdue holiday homework, new homework and stuff. still barely coping but im starting to fear and worry about my academic performance. i really really want to throw away the lackadaisical old me.

i shall try to write as and when i am free. i realise this is a really good avenue to just pour out anything and everything within me. its been about 2 weeks since we met our junior classes. nothing much to say about the junior classes la. nothing positive/negative in particular, some juniors are quite nice, and yeahh my angels and mortals are nice people too. ain't that great :) i seriously hope my mortal & angel who took olevels did well for their olevels though. yupps.

seeing the juniors this year just makes me think and recall alot about last year, the time we spent together as a class, the interaction with the senior class, etc. orientation, dramafeste and everything! the anxiety of waiting for news of classmates' olevels results, the super sian feeling of having less than half the class left after results were released. i guessed it just bonds the class together to some extent. jiannan, mishh and myself just kept digging out class photos from last year and this year just to rekindle the memories. hahaa. go facebook 67 group to see all the photos!

hahaa all these thinking just makes me wonder how many one will actually get to meet all the other classmates after our alevels, after everybody go their separate ways, to ns or university, on scholarship or just purely fms (father-mother scholarship hahaa). we should do something unforgettable lah, like an overseas class trip, i think it'll be really memorable =) *hint hint peckk and caryn ain't this a good idea hahaa.*

and yeahh that's about all i have to write for now. im going to try my best to just push myself a wee bit more. study or bowling wise. yeahh. and regain my confidence (uncle francis says i have no confidence in myself when i bowl hahaa.)

3 days have passed since the school year started. feels weird to be starting all the lessons and stuff on the first day. i am going to try to do my homework this year. yes this year. however detemined that might sound, i don't feel like doing last year's holiday homework though. never mind, i'll try my best.

things in sinvacc have also changed since the start of this year. i've taken over as atm. javier's been appointed my datm and joel my ec. things may be challenging in the coming year but we've started well. that apart, haven't been flying on flight sim for 4 days now. thinking of a next destination. any ideas?

juniors are coming in soon enough. hopefully we'll have a nice junior class.

ok fine i'm useless, i hope you're happy with that.

i didn't take my damn german o'levels because i'm hum, i know i won't pass. i didn't bloody take grade 7 practical because im hum, i know i won't pass. i can't bloody pass my damn mathematics despite studying almost only mathematics, i suck. happy?

you think i bloody can't complete anything i do, you think its damn encouraging to come home with some shit result on my test paper isit? you think it feels great to fail or something? i tell you it doesn't feel great, not at all. i feel like a bloody useless bum whenever i fail.

i don't waste time by the com. at least my friends are there for me when i need them.
i don't wate time bowling and playing flight sim. why can't i have my own damn passion and aspiration. this sounds bloody cliched but at least they provide me with avenues to vent my anger and disappointment. i don't do things for nothing.

perhaps i shouldn't even try to reach out of my limits, where i am now. would your expectations have been lower if i were somewhere else. would it be lower if i didn't even try to outperform my born limits in the first place.

look people, i'm sorry for all these ranting, i just really needed to get them off my chest and this seemed the only avenue for me to rant without bothering anyone.

backk from thailand 2 days ago (8th december i mean, since its past midnight now) around 11+, close to midnight. only had time to update now as i've been sorting out my luggage and photos.

went to bangkok, kanchanaburi, ayutthaya, chiangmai, chiangrai, and donesao (laos p.d.r.) to buy souvenirs.

bought a fair bit of stuff backk, and took more than a fair bit of photos. on the whole it was a rather enjoyable trip, quite a different experience from my previous trip there. happened to be the thai King's 81st birthday the day i was in chiangrai / maesai. there was a really big street celebration sort of thing. i was/am still really impressed by their loyalty and respect to the King.

i'm still sorting out my photos and stuff, will upload when its organised.

im back to update - again. september break isn't really a break. its just there to let you stay at home and go berserk. i think i can study better in school, but thanks to some stupid sore throat which led to some stupid mild fever i feel too lethargic to go to school.

went to jurong point to meet zhikai for lunch + buy things + do chem tutorial yesterday. spent almost an hour plus walking around because i couldn't decide what to buy. but yeah, thanks for going to buy my stuff with me zhikai. after that went zhikai's house to do chem tutorial and played his ps2 before i came home.

nothing much on today. tried to study, not very productive. guess tomorrow's chemistry lesson would be more productive.

guess what, i did some maths in school again! these 2 afternoons quite productive, i've finished tutorial 9a and some questions from tutorial 9b already. i hope my determination to try to study will continue-

had physics mock spa today, after which we were handed a survey form asking about how we found the subject, the pace of teaching and how we found the tutor. err okay la. actually i think he's really okay. i mean, you can really see the amount of effort he puts in to teach us and try to explain things to us. its just that sometimes we really cannot understand.

stupid rain today made the field become a pool of mud, can't even play soccer. so we resorted to playing soccer at the space beside class bench again. poor mishh, hit by zhihong's missed shot which missed my head narrowly too.

came home rather late today, considering i had nothing on after school except doing tutorials. left school at about 6.30 plus. and yeah, saw adel yusi corrine and yuhuan at bukit batok.

hmm this post sounds more like a narrative than anything else huh. not bad, good practice for GP. okay okay that was crap-

1. added a song! like this song alot alot. and the lyrics are great. theres this other song named 遇到 i wanted to add too (p.s. its 遇到 not 遇见), but chose this song instead.

2. i did homework in school today! oh my, its like ben chan doing homework, miracles do happen yeah?

3. i've resolved to study more everyday. may not be intense mugging, but at least an attempt to study.

watched 881 today! I must say it is a really nice local production and its really funny at times, especially the animations for the divine powers. although the ending is really sad but I think this movie is really worth watching la (ehh do I get incentive for advertising lol)

qi yu wu is chao funny with the chicky la, especially the squeezing the chicken for sound effects part. very creative and funny haha. but throughout the show I had the thought that a miracle was going to happen and no one would die la, but apparently I was wrong.

some people were like sniffing and crying in the cinema too. ya la the ending was sad but erm really sad until they cry until like that meh? oh anyway the hokkien songs were really classic but nice la.

ok, back to normal. its been a super long while since i last updated. i think i should force myself to blog regularly la. tomorrow got 2 hours chemistry tutorial, thats so going to kill us man. oh wells.

I realised its been almost 2 weeks since I last updated - been feeling quite lazy to write lately.

nothing much worth mentioning here - except some interesting topic the bowling team were talking about this morning. chongchen said why not the whole team buy the same ball - he wanted nvs - it'll look very sehh with the same team ball (LOL). but of course we were only dreaming - one new nvs costs $350, and by simple calculations if 7 of us were to buy the same ball it would cost 7 x $350 = $2450. whoa. what a dream. haha.

played lots of fifa recently. and yes attempted to do maths homework. I must say spending time in school is more constructive than spending time at home. so I should spend more time in school. anyway, tmr's bowling training again! yayness.

youth day over - back to school.

physics lecture was an amazing 90 minutes. going through 20 (yes twenty) MCQs in 90 minutes made us experience the worst emotions you can ever experience on earth. it was really a YES MY TIKAM (means anyhow choose) WAS CORRECT, or DIE ITS WRONG AGAIN. hahas. sad, but its the truth. (of course this excludes imba people who manage to own for physics blocks)

nothing else that happened today was really worth mentioning - OH, yes - w.e.f july 1st 2007 GST has been raised from 5% to 7%-
and our canteen bottled drink price has been raised from $1.20 to $1.25 haha. i was really stunned when the uncle gave me 75 cents change for the drink I paid with a 2 dollar note.
(not that I mind the 5 cents lar, but this change in price is imba fast haha.)

played 3 matches of fifa07 with zhihong today, with my mind set to 'get thrashed' mode.
but won 1 lost 2 isn't a bad result afterall, I'm happy with the scorelines too.
(me) München 5 - 4 Nottingham Forest (zhihong) - he kindly agreed to use a english league one team for first match to give me advantage
(me) Republic of Korea 4 - 5 PR of China (zhihong) - last minute goal by defender from far range, I thought it was quite lucky but zhihong deserved the win
(me) Germany 4 - 6 England (zhihong) - I was quite happy with this result, considering the gap was bigger at half time, 0-4 if I'm not mistaken

an attempt to finish this post in the last 2 mins of the day-

today was really fun, going vivo with 67 people - with the intention of watching transformers. with only shit seats left when we got there, we decided to eat dinner instead.

after dinner went arcade with wilson, zhikai, xinhui, yongqiang, zhihong, caryn and xinyi. played afterburner with zhikai, it was really cool - except wilson said loads of people were looking at us play. then played daytona usa 2 with zhikai.

then we enjoyed cheap thrill at adidas shop @ vivocity, playing tabletop soccer. we were having loads of fun, until some small kid came and made lots of noise (while koping one row of my players) and the staff came to tell the boy he was damn noisy.

advice: for good class outings, go adidas shop @ vivocity for some cheap thrill.
second advice: DO NOT buy ice-blended drinks from kopitiam @ vivocity. (zhihong and I got scammed already)

and the sky is the only place that can provide you with all the peace and quietness you desire-

SINGAPORE, June 30 - Mark Viduka scored a second-half double and Harry Kewell also got on the scoresheet as Australia ground out a 3-0 win over Singapore in a friendly in the city state on Saturday.

Australia, using the game as a tune-up for the Asian Cup, started slowly and it was the hosts who came closest to scoring in the first half.

Australia goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer had to be sharp to stop Indra Sahdan in a one-on-one in the 38th minute and the Singapore striker came even closer five minutes later when his header crashed off the crossbar with Schwarzer beaten.

Australia stepped up the pace in the second half and it was not long before the Socceroos took the lead, with Newcastle forward Viduka heading home in the 50th minute.

Singapore pushed forward for an equaliser and Khairul Amri came close to scoring when his curling, left-foot shot came back off the post.

With Singapore leaving gaps at the back Australia made it 2-0 when substitute Kewell slotted home in the 76th minute.

The Liverpool winger then crossed for Viduka to head home his second in the closing minutes, wrapping up the scoring in the last game played at Singapore's National Stadium before it is torn down.

The Asian Cup, being hosted jointly by Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, starts next Saturday.

lol. I'm like super happy blocks are over lah. yar I know I'm bound to screw physics and chemistry and stuff. but its over - and I have one week before I get screwed for my results :)

haha. yep. I'm so going to enjoy this coming weekend.

ANYWAY, I've been playing quite a bit of football manager 07 too haha. and i bought like 4 players in my first season at liverpool already! yeah, namely andoni iraola, paulo ferreira, adriano and freddy adu!

yar don't doubt the decision to buy adu haha, he's bound to be a world class player in football manager in a few years' time (game time lar).
